  1. CERTIFICATE 

The Level 3 Certificate courses in Solution Focused Practice will be held four times in 2012. The training will be provided in West Yorkshire and Tyneside. The Certificate will involve 5 days of training and to complete the accreditation students will need to complete a learning log and submit an audio recording of an interview with a service user and pass a case-based assignment.

To attend the training applicants will need to:

• Be 18 years or older
• Be engaged in direct work with people
• Have permission from their employer to attend the training and support to do so
• Have permission to use their direct work to evidence their learning
• Be able to speak and write in English to a reasonable level of ability
• Be qualified to the level of 5 GCSE’s, Level 2 NVQ or the equivalent or above.

2. DIPLOMA

 We are also working towards delivering a Diploma course in Solution Focused Practice from October 2012. This will run over the course of an academic year. We currently anticipate that this will include,

• 8 Taught days
• Monthly half-day practice seminars
• Monthly supervision
• Production of
  • A learning log
  • A practice log
  • Two assignments
  • A portfolio including a case study

3. BESPOKE CERTIFICATE COURSES 

 For organisations wishing to train a minimum of 15 staff the above Certificate course can be delivered locally and adjusted to ensure the content of the course focuses specifically on their area of service provision. For example: mental health; substance misuse; children and family work; or supervision.

 ACCREDITATION

The Certificate is NCFE accredited at level 3 and BACP endorsed for CPD purposes.

The Diploma will be NCFE accredited at level 4 and BACP endorsed for CPD purposes.

  EXTERNAL VALIDATION

 All Certificate and Diploma courses will be externally validated by the experienced solution focused therapist and writer - Paul Hanton.
